Laugh. Love. Live.

I recently came across this picture on Pinterest and I CANNOT stop thinking about it. It certainly is a picture worth a thousand words. The more I think about it, the more I realize that I'm probably most like the women in the third row. How boring, how sad, how serious, how lifeless.

I certainly have my fun and goofy moments, but reflecting on this photo has deepened a craving within me to laugh more, lose myself in memorable moments, and truly love life. I want to live like those women in the first row!

Recently, I was almost in an accident. By almost I mean: brakes squealing, me screaming, and having to veer off the highway. In that moment of terror, I was reminded how fragile life is and how often I take it for granted. How I often just assume that I will be here tomorrow.

The devotion on August 13 in "Jesus Calling" really resonated with me. "Learn to enjoy life more. Relax, remembering that I am God with you. I crafted you with enormous capacity to know Me and enjoy My Presence. When My people wear sour faces and walk through their lives with resigned rigidity, I am displeased. When you walk through a day with childlike delight, savoring every blessing, you proclaim your trust in Me, your ever-present Shepherd. The more you focus on My Presence with you, the more fully you can enjoy life. Glorify Me through your pleasure in Me. Thus you proclaim My Presence to the watching world."

John 10:10 says that the thief comes to steal, kill, and destroy. Are we aware of the ways Satan is stealing our joy? Are we aware of how he is killing our self-esteem through his pestering lies and doubts? Will we let him destroy our marriages and families by using distractions and deception?

Women, are we ready and willing to become like a child? To be full of delight, savoring life's simple blessings? Do you want to live the full life that God has promised you?

Claim it. Take back the joy that Satan so easily steals from us!

Join me in making the last week of summer vacation a memorable one...full of laughter, love, and full-living. To relax. To play. To delight. To savor.
